Community members gathered together on Country at an Indigital event

What we do

Indigital works at the system level to create lasting change on Country.

Every project depends on something deeper:

We stabilise the conditions that allow projects to succeed. We address root causes such as governance design, power, data ownership, capability and market access rather than symptoms.

We embed Indigenous governance as operating infrastructure. Free, Prior and Informed Consent, Cultural Protocols, Elder leadership, and Indigenous Data Sovereignty are built into decision systems rather than added as engagement steps.

We treat technology as an enabler, not the story. AI, data platforms, space and digital tools matter only when governed by Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural protocols.

We act as an empathetic guide, convening, holding complexity and redistributing power rather than controlling outcomes.

We focus on economic regeneration with legitimacy. Enterprise pathways in Caring for Country, nature repair, digital and space-enabled services are co-designed and governed by community.

Each partnership builds scalable blueprints that can be adapted nationally and globally without stripping cultural authority.

How we work

Indigital’s work operates across three connected layers

01

Strengthening foundations

We begin with relationships, governance and cultural authority. Working alongside Traditional Custodians, Elders and partners, we strengthen the conditions that allow decisions on Country to be legitimate and durable.

This includes:

Recognising and working under cultural authority

Strengthening governance structures and decision rights

Supporting Indigenous data sovereignty

Building trusted, long-term relationships

Without these foundations, programs and projects struggle to create lasting impact.

02

Building capability

Once strong foundations are in place, we work with communities and partners to build the capability needed for long-term success.

This includes capability across:

Governance

Economic Development

Cultural knowledge and skills development (e.g. digital, business,
data governance)

Monitoring and evaluation

This enables communities to actively shape and participate in the opportunities emerging around them.

03

Activating programs and projects

With strong governance and capability in place, programs and projects can deliver meaningful outcomes. We partner to activate programs aligned to community priorities, industry responsibility and long-term stewardship of Country.

Programs may focus on:

Caring for Country

Workforce pathways

Enterprise development

Digital and technology capability

Environmental stewardship and rehabilitation

Future industries and sector transition

This is where Indigenous knowledge, modern technology come together to support the care and stewardship of Country.

Shared value, shared responsibility

Our programs are grounded in social reciprocity where value is created and shared between communities and industry, with strong economic, social and environmental outcomes for both.

Communities and industry co-design the goals and define what success looks like. We track progress over time creating shared accountability for outcomes and ensuring they are real, shared and lasting.

  • Co-defined outcomes
  • Early visibility of risks and opportunities
  • Shared accountability
  • Learning and adaptation over time
  • Ongoing tracking, not just end-of-project reporting

What this creates

For communities

Cultural authority recognised and strengthened

Capability that lasts beyond funding cycles

Economic pathways on community terms

Cultural knowledge protected and activated

Intergenerational connection and leadership

For industry

Reduced social and approval risk

Stronger FPIC confidence

Clear accountability

Earlier visibility of issues before escalation

Stable workforce participation

Durable social licence
